Nautilus Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2008
Wine Spectator (USA)
"The tsunami of sauvignon blanc from Marlborough, much of it at very attractive prices, obscures the fact that paying a bit more for top-end wines such as this gets you fantastic value. Riotously fragrant with layer after layer of intense, ripe tropical flavours - gooseberries, lychees and passionfruit - and underlining cool, taut, natural acidity."
Peter Forrestal, Qantas The Australian Way, December 2009
- "THERE'S an ocean of New Zealand sauvignon blanc in Australia and it varies widely in quality and price. Most of it comes from Marlborough at the top end of the South Island and new labels are appearing all the time. There are bargains to be had, but if you want reliability, the more established brands are the way to go. Nautilus is consistently one of the best of this old guard and the '08 is a beauty. It encapsulates the best style perfectly, with a voluminous aroma of guava, passionfruit and pawpaw, edged with savoury herbaceousness. It tastes intense and persistent with excellent varietal purity, balance, cut and zest."
