Nautilus Estate Pinot Gris 2006

"Attractively perfumed in the manner of good Alsatian examples, this is a smooth-textured, faintly sweet pinot gris with very satisfying flavour. A touch of firmness is nicely incorporated into the palate. Great with gently spicy Asian cuisine. Drink now". Lester Jesberg, WINEWISE - Vol 23 Number 1 (Aus), April 2007

"This is what Pinot Gris is all about. New Zealand's cool South Island injects an icy grapefruit shot into the midst of its delicate apple and spicy pear flavours". Tyson Stelzer, Style Magazine (Aus), April 2007

"That other valley in Marlborough, the Awatere, is getting a name for its pinot gris. Although this wine is a blend of Awatere and Wairau fruit, the former is what delivers the knock-out component according to the viticulturists. Weight and texture are crucial for pinot gris to work well, and this dry, musky expression of the variety is a textural triumph. Try it as an aperitif with green olives on the side." John Saker, Canvas Magazine - NZ Herald, 6 January 2007 (NZ)
